Welcome to NerdTools! Here's how to get started with our tools.
Step 1: Create an account
Sign up for a NerdTools account to access the dashboard and unlock all features. Some tools like the Domain Scanner and URL Shortener work without an account.
Step 2: Choose a tool
From your dashboard, choose the tool you need:
- Uptime Monitoring — Enter your domain name and configure check intervals. Monitoring starts immediately from multiple global locations.
- Screenshot Monitoring — Enter the URL you want to capture. You'll need to verify domain ownership via DNS before monitoring begins.
- DNS Redirect — Set up domain redirects with automatic SSL. Requires domain verification and DNS configuration.
- URL Shortener — Paste any long URL to instantly create a short link with a QR code. No setup required.
Step 3: Configure alerts
For monitoring tools, add an email address to receive notifications when issues are detected. You can use your account email or specify a different address for each monitor.
Step 4: Review your data
Check your dashboard regularly to review uptime statistics, response times, screenshot comparisons, redirect analytics, and link click counts. Historical data helps you identify patterns and issues.
